The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Sales Director responsible for driving sustainable and profitable growth in the sales of Heavy Haul and Utility Trailers, manufactured by the client. This role will focus on maximizing sales, market share, and profitability within the US market by collaborating with the companys Territory Managers, Sales Specialists, and Product Support teams.


Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Lead the sales strategy, dealer development, and recruitment for the companys Heavy Haul and Utility Trailer products.
  • Ensure all dealers are equipped to provide exceptional product support for the company's trailer product line.
  • Collaborate with the US Sales Director and Territory Managers to develop and implement strategies for expanding the companys sales with dealers.
  • Support the sales team in achieving product sales growth by providing in-depth knowledge of products, applications, industry trends, customers, and competitors.
  • Coordinate and deliver ongoing product knowledge and application training for regional sales and dealer teams.
  • Assist in launching the Utility Trailer lineup in the US and contribute to the development of a five-year dealer growth strategy.
  • Drive trailer sales in collaboration with the Agricultural Sales team through the established agricultural dealer network.
  • Work with the companys sales leadership team to enhance trailer sales through the construction products division.
  • Research and monitor competitor pricing, activities, programs, and tactics.
  • Provide market intelligence to ensure the companys pricing, programs, and marketing strategies are competitive and effective in penetrating new markets and growing existing ones.
  • Identify opportunities for product differentiation and market penetration that enhance profitability.
  • Offer insights on inventory mix to align with business objectives for various product categories.
  • Support asset management goals related to inventory turnover and aging while protecting company assets.
  • Participate in customer visits with sales teams as needed.
  • Travel extensively throughout the US to support direct interactions with dealer contacts and their customers (up to three weeks per month).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers.
  • Assist dealers with sales and marketing initiatives, including advertising, demonstrations, field days, and open houses.
  • Provide input into sales program and product development.
  • Assist in coordinating and attending trade shows within the territory.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in trailer sales, product support, or technical support, with manufacturers and/or dealers of Heavy Haul and Utility Trailers.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Established relationships with US Trailer dealers are a plus.
  • Ability to coach and develop the companys Sales Team members.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Motivated, team-oriented, and goal-driven individual with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A recent drivers abstract is required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport and be willing to travel internationally.
