Instructor/Nurse Practitioner

The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, known as one of the pioneers in personalized cancer medicine, is an international leader in research and cancer treatment. To provide patient care in accordance with allied health privileges granted by OHSU.  The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is under the supervision of the Inpatient APP Manager and provides patient care consistent with the credentials and the philosophy of the Department of Medicine, University Hospitals and Clinics.

 

The APP functions in a manner which maintains the confidentiality and privacy of each patient, promotes a positive relationship with all health team members, and supports the policies and procedures of the University Hospitals and Clinics.

Physician Assistant

• Valid State of Oregon Physician Assistant license
• Current Physician Assistant license for State of Oregon
• State of Oregon Licensure with collaboration to practice in Oregon
• National board certification

Nurse Practitioner

• Valid State of Oregon Registered Nurse license
• Current Nurse Practitioner license for the state of Oregon
• State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges
• Congruence between education, current national board certification, licensure, and OHSU job description and duties as listed above

Physician Assistant

• Membership in professional organization
• Two years of oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant and/or inpatient hospital medicine

Nurse Practitioner

• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Membership in professional nursing organization
• Two years of oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant and/or inpatient hospital medicine
