The CenterWell Strategy & Operations Lead provides data-based strategic direction to support broader team and identify and address business issues and opportunities. Provides business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments or the company at large. The CW Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

As a CenterWell Strategy & Operations Lead, you will support the central CenterWell Strategy & Operations team and play an important role in supporting the strategic direction of CenterWell. This role will collaborate closely with CenterWell leadership and senior leaders across our Primary Care, Home, and Pharmacy businesses to advance delivery of personalized and integrated care that improves experience, quality, and outcomes while addressing some of the segments’ most important opportunities and challenges.

CenterWell is seeking a team member with prior management consulting experience or professional experience leveraging core consulting skills to play a critical role in the successful delivery of high-priority projects and initiatives across CenterWell. Day-to-day activities will include owning responsibility of workstreams, developing industry analysis, building high-level financial/business modeling, conducting qualitative analysis, and synthesizing strategic options to create executive-level deliverables and recommendations for CenterWell’s and Humana’s senior leaders and Board. You will also shape implementation considerations and work with business owners as appropriate to transition strategy into execution. Leads are required to manage the scope of work, understand the needs of stakeholders within CenterWell and across Humana, and ensure high-quality results.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Executing large-scale strategy and operations projects in partnership with leaders from across the company and owning one or more simultaneous workstreams
  • Providing strategic guidance to advance CenterWell-wide strategic plans and objectives
  • Supporting creation and coordination of all CenterWell-wide deliverables required for internal and external communication (including to CenterWell’s and Humana’s Executive Leadership and Board of Directors), ensuring consistency of vision and timely execution
  • Executing high-level financial modeling, qualitative analysis, and synthesis of strategic options for annual strategic planning process
  • Creating executive-level presentations and deliverables that clearly frame objectives, issues and challenges, and articulate compelling, insightful findings, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Developing hypotheses to be validated or refined through targeted research and analysis
  • Conducting industry, market, competitor, and financial analysis and synthesizing insights
  • Conducting interviews and working sessions with stakeholders from across the company
  • Developing strategy and business cases for innovative CenterWell-wide initiatives that are strategic, highly visible, and complex in nature, including those related to ongoing CenterWell integration, and supporting operational execution
  • Working collaboratively with fellow CenterWell Strategy & Operations team members and leaders across the company and managing relationships with internal stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of full-time work experience with a leading management consulting firm and/or 4+ years of professional experience in a strategic role that required core consulting skills
  • Proven business and financial acumen, including experience with financial modeling and ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data
  • Proven ability to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis and leverage management consulting frameworks and tools (e.g., competitive analysis, strategy road map, strategic investment prioritization) to structure and solve complex business problems
  • Proven ability to create executive-level presentations and deliverables that effectively communicate complex concepts
  • Proactive, self-starter with a high level of initiative and resourcefulness
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to effectively multi-task, time manage, and prioritize
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative team-player with strong interpersonal skills, excellent emotional intelligence, and comfortability collaborating across segments and the enterprise to drive work forward
  • Demonstrated progressive, expanded responsibilities with a proven track record of success
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experience and outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration or related Master’s degree
  • Prior healthcare industry experience, preferably within healthcare services or care delivery organizations
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization

Additional Information:

  • Remote role but Washington, DC metro area is preferred location (opportunity to follow a hybrid model, working together with direct leader in Arlington, VA office 1-3 days a week)
  • <20% out of state travel expected in role

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$126,700 - $174,200 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
