Position Summary
This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of Continuing Education programs, which includes the Center for Workforce Development (CWD) and the Community Learning Center (CLC) classes and programs.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Coordinates registration process for CWD/CLC.
- Coordinates all class/event logistics for CWD/CLC, including schedule changes, cancellations and notifications to students.
- Coordinates day-to-day finances for CWD/CLC including monitoring and reconciling revenue and expenditures and monitoring departmental budgets.
- Assists with the supervision of operations staff, including administrative assistants and student workers.
- Generates information/reports for supervisors and programming and marketing professionals.
- Coordinates human resource paperwork for CWD/CLC instructors including oversight of payroll.
- Manages software processes for CWD/CLC operations.
- Purchases supplies, materials and equipment for CWD/CLC operations.
- Gathers, systematizes and manages data for CWD/CLCβs routine activities, such as tabulating evaluations and contacting instructors to schedule upcoming sessions.
- Performs a variety of clerical and office management duties; processes confidential materials; answers telephone and greets visitors; develops forms, spreadsheets, tables and lists; maintains hard copy and electronic files.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Director/supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include staff and student handbooks and college policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
- The work consists of varied operational duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to coordinate operations of assigned departments. Successful performance contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of those operations.

- Contacts are typically with co-workers, other college employees, students, and the general public.
- Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.
- The work is typically performed in an office.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position has direct supervision over student workers and assists with the supervision of administrative assistants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with an Associates Degree.
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with three yearsβ experience or service.
