Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $76,000 to $95,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.The F&B Event Operations Manager leads and oversees all aspects of food and beverage operations for large banquet and catering functions, as well as other event-based services. This role requires a professional with a deep understanding of high-volume event execution, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Responsibilities
Manage food and beverage operations for large-scale banquets, catered events, and event-based services, ensuring seamless coordination across departments
Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and attention to detail
Manage food and beverage operations to meet event needs while adhering to budgeted/projected revenues
Control costs related to food production, beverages, and labor, aligning them with event revenue and operational requirements
Recruit, train, schedule, and lead part-time staff working events to ensure adequate coverage and excellent service delivery
Provide guidance and direction during events, fostering a cohesive and effective team environment
Collaborate with event planners and clients to align food and beverage offerings with event themes, budgets, and guest expectations
Develop and implement detailed event-specific operations plans, including logistics, staffing, and service flow strategies
Partner with culinary teams to develop and customize menus tailored to diverse event types, guest preferences, and dietary needs
Ensure consistency in menu execution, presentation, and quality during events
Monitor food, beverage, and labor costs, ensuring alignment with established budgets
Analyze financial performance for events and identify opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement
Maintain high standards of food and beverage service, ensuring guest satisfaction at every stage of the event
Address and resolve guest concerns or service challenges promptly and professionally
Ensure compliance with all food safety, alcohol service, and workplace safety regulations
Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to company standards
Skills
5+ years of experience in food and beverage operations, with a focus on large banquets, catering, or event-based services
Degree or certification in hospitality management, culinary arts, or a related field preferred
Experience with luxury or high-end catering and events is a plus
Familiarity with event management software and point-of-sale systems preferred
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams in high-pressure environments
Strong knowledge of food and beverage trends, menu planning, and service styles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset
Proficiency in budget management, scheduling, and operational planning
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
