Data Operations Analyst

Kharon
Full-time
On-site
District of Columbia, Washington, United States

We’re looking for our next Data Operations Analyst who has a particular specialty or interest in web scraping and extracting data from the open source.

Reporting to our Director of Product with dotted-line leadership from the VP of Product, the core of this position is dedicated to applying a data-centric approach to the build out of our knowledge centers and databases. Tackling some of the world’s most pressing security issues, you will develop and publish data that enables our clients to better navigate global markets.

Extracting information from the open-source and incorporating your findings into our platform, you will collaboratively work with the Data Ops and Data Science teams to identify, analyze and structure relevant new data products. This position requires a heightened curiosity and attention to detail. Ultimately responsible for the data-quality of existing and new data being introduced into our core data, you will lean on your resourcefulness and sharpened critical thinking skills to scope, capture and scrape information in a concerted effort that supercharges Kharon’s content development.

Experience, education or interest in business intelligence research, conflict and illicit finance analysis, banking sector risk management and compliance or national security-related matters will catapult your success in this role as these elements are core to our business. Again, you should have some sort of experience in conducting open-source research, finding useful resources for data collection and cleaning up/interpreting the data before you. Ultimately, your goal will be to take large amounts of information and turn it all into something that makes sense.

If you speak Russian, Chinese (Mandarin), Arabic, or Farsi, that's a huge bonus! We'd love to bring more folks onboard who can help us navigate those languages and cultures.
