Security Director/Assistant Security Director

United Security Services, Inc., seeks to employ a Security Director and Assistant Security Director for the Las Vegas Area. Schedule flexibility is also an absolute must. Please see the following for the individual descriptions:

Security Director

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the principal liaison between the service provider and customer.  
  • Provides managerial and administrative support for security operations and personnel.  
  • Fosters positive interactions with all stake holders.  
  • Acts as Liaison between the service provider and state and Federal agencies.  
  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and policies to ensure the protection of the organization’s assets, including physical, digital, and human resources.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of the security team, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the organization’s security needs.
  • Coordinate with external law enforcement and emergency responders to develop joint response strategies and enhance security measures.
  • Manage the budget for the security department, including procurement of security technologies and services, to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.

Assistant Security Director:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the second in command within security operations, with the Security Director to ensure serves meet or exceed expectations.  
  • Assuming the responsibilities of the Director of Safety and Security in that person's absence.

  • Assist in overseeing security operations, often working closely with law enforcement, emergency services, and internal teams. 
  • Developing security policies and procedures, managing security personnel, and ensuring the enforcement of security standards. 
  • Involvement in emergency response, crisis management, and conducting internal investigations.

The Assistant Security Director will possess the acumen and skills to act as the Security Director when the Security Director is out.   This is a hybrid position consisting of administrative and operational in the field role and will work outside in the field on a regular basis.

 

 Responsibilities for both positions:

  • Monitor guest areas for unauthorized people, suspicious activity and/or any discrepancies.
  • Remain attentive to any abnormalities, all of which include any form of safety hazards, and emergency cases. Emergency response (i.e., fire, police, ambulance work force) should be reached in the event of any irregularities.
  • Direct and assist in emergency procedures, ensuring that the fire safety plan is executed accordingly.
  • Assure that all fire and safety systems, including fire alarms and smoke detectors are functioning; report any defective systems as needed.
  • Guarantee that information is neatly and appropriately recorded into to all logbooks in accordance with NYC Fire Code.
  • Ensure that Security Guards are present for their scheduled shifts and located at their designated post.
  • Ensure Security Guards are in full uniform, comply with post orders, and company policy.
  • Assist with any needs or requests hotel guests may have.
  • Maintain a hospitable and safe environment for all guests and hotel personnel.
  • Communicate with regional management and property manager.

Requirements:

  • Experience in security, armed or unarmed
  • Supervisory experience in building security an absolute must
  • A valid Guard License for the State of Nevada
  • Experience developing and implementing security policies and procedures
  • Experience managing security personnel and teams
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws
