Patient Solutions is an evolving and highly important area for the success of Pfizer Specialty Care. Due to the complexity of the patient journey in many specialty care therapeutic areas, up to 50% of specialty medications never get dispensed after an HCP writes the script. The role of the Patient Solutions and Engagement team is to simplify and elevate the patient and customer experience, to ensure an elegant journey and that appropriate patients get access to care that their HCP has recommended.
Role Summary:
The US Specialty Care Access & Reimbursement Operations Director will work cross-functionally with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. This colleague will serve as the primary touchpoint to the I&I Access and Reimbursement Teams, specifically the National Lead, Regional Directors, and work closely with the I&I Operational Execellence TL to provide operational excellence. Optimizing the digital operations, ensuring the Access and Reimbursement team needs are developed and managing/maintaining the digital platforms unique to the A&R function. The role will ensure maximizing the business value of patient support hubs, digital investments, and future projects in lock step with the I&I Operational Execellence TL. This is an opportunity to work across the Specialty Care Access & Reimbursement on how we communicate about our patient support and continue to develop and enhance the patient support offerings.
Pfizer Specialty Care hubs provide access support, financial assistance, and ongoing personalized support for thousands of patients prescribed 10+ medications across the Pfizer Specialty Care portfolio. In addition to supporting access to our medicines, the programs provide ongoing 1 on 1 phone support and digital and print resources to help patients prescribed our medicines with certain day-to-day challenges they may experience throughout treatment.
Role Responsibilities:
Interface and collaborate with Specialty Care Access and Reimbursement Regional Leadership, to assist patients in access team that focuses on helping patients access their prescribed medications
Contribute to patient support initiatives in partnership with Regional Leadership that is appointed Program lead as well as Specialty Care Patient Solutions & Enablement Director, including enhanced digital CRM offerings and customization of patient support experience by brand/therapeutic area.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Polaris CRM, PSSP and all applicable platforms including issue remediation, enhancements, maintenance, and system administration functions.
Work to achieve Digital Budget for A&R team to execute annual Plan and reconcile yearly operating and project budgets, coordinate with Patient Solutions Project Operations Manager to review progress on a continuous basis along with other Specialty Care Operation Directors to ensure cross functionally we are achieving and exceeding goals with best-in-class care.
Partner with other internal A&R teams across BUs to achieve consistency and economies of scale across Pfizer, which can look like quarterly Cross BU Workshops and bimonthly meetings with Strategy Team to update on programs and projects as well as share roadmaps.
Implement and monitor metrics to inform performance, adoption and user experience of new deployments, effectiveness and recommend changes.
Participate and lead segments of process, user, implementation, and testing design for delivery of new integrated technologies and releases of all PFE platforms.
Gather insights to understand and identify technology gaps for A&R team(s)
Liaise directly with Patient Support Services (PSS) Digital teams to identify new capabilities and integrate.
Create and foster a culture of continuous improvement including creation of new projects focused on digital & operational issues monitoring improvement efforts.
Support and help drive strategic innovation in business practices by contributing to collaborative program and project management processes.
Qualifications:
BA/BS required
At least 10 years of pharma or equivalent experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8 years of pharma or equivalent experience with a Masters degree
A successful candidate should be a self-starter comfortable working independently or in teams and comfortable innovating and evolving a dynamic offering
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers and oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Hub and/or patient support programs, market access, or experience with provider solutions
Experience working in XF environment, influencing without authority, and working seamlessly with field-based colleagues
10+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech or medical marketing/sales with extensive external healthcare market and advanced customer and health system knowledge
Previous experience in an Enablement experience (full time role, secondment, or growth gig)
Previous Access & Reimbursement, Key Account Management and/or Leadership experience with a demonstrated record of consistent performance and specialized technical skill obtained from cross-functional roles.
Ability to influence key stakeholders with proven communication skills and leadership qualities.
Short and long-term effective planning, prioritization, and organization project skills.
Strong strategic skills to effectively identify and address major challenges and balance short-term needs with long-term vision.
Proven experience working with a Compliance first mindset, good judgement and high ethics.
Nice-to-Have
Prior Operations experience with a strong history of achievement and performance.
Established knowledge of technical platforms within Specialty Care Access & Reimbursement Teams
This role can be based remotely in any state in the US Eastern Time Zone. Must travel based on business need 10-15%.
