The purpose of the Executive Director’s Office (EDO) is to lead the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF) to achieve its mission, which is to improve health care equity, access and outcomes for the people we serve while saving Coloradans money on health care and driving value for Colorado. HCPF is the single state agency administering Colorado Medicaid and the Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) program. The Executive Director’s Office (EDO) supports the executive director in running the Department, overseeing the safety net programs, and achieving the Governor’s priorities. The EDO also leads the strategic process, including the construction of the Department goals and the identification and implementation of the projects and initiatives that propel performance under the Department’s Offices as well as the Department’s six strategic pillars, including: care access; operational excellence; member health; Medicaid affordability; health care affordability for all Coloradans; and employee satisfaction.

Description of Job

The Executive Director's Office (EDO) welcomes your interest in the Executive Director's Office Coordinator position.  This position supports the general administrative needs of the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing Executive Director’s Office, assists the EDO in project coordination to meet goals within the office and within the Department, and provides support for contract compliance for the Department’s contracts with the Center for Improving Value in Health Care (CIVHC), coordination of the Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) contract, and other contracts within the EDO.

Additional responsibilities in this position include:

  • Department coordinator and point of contact for the All-Payer Claims Database (APCD) to provide support with regard to the APCD Advisory Committee and CIVHC.
  • Support in-office, hybrid and virtual events and meetings.
  • Provides technical and program support to the Department leadership teams and across the EDO.
  • Communicate across Department leadership teams, the EDO and department office administrative professionals for planning, scheduling and logistics purposes. 
  • Support project coordination of EDO goals, objectives, priorities and special projects. 
  • Ensure the implementation and success of EDO initiatives.
  • Manage confidential and privileged information, as well as preparing documents and materials timely and accurately.
  • Resource to department staff and serves as a specialist in administrative duties and coordinating programs, projects and initiatives in the EDO.
  • Provide cross-EDO administrative professional coverage as well as administrative professional coverage for other offices within HCPF, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


There are two ways to qualify for this position:


Option 1:

Experience Only:

A combination of six (6) years of related professional experience in Microsoft programs (excel, ppt, word and Sharepoint), Google Suite experience (google calendar, sheets, docs and slides), Adobe Acrobat for editing, contract management, including tracking budgets, reviewing deliverables, processing and paying invoices, working with senior leadership in an organization including  scheduling for senior leadership, developing and executing on plans to coordinate project work


Option 2:

Education and Experience:

A bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a related field and  two (2) years of professional experience in Microsoft programs (excel, ppt, word and Sharepoint), Google Suite experience (google calendar, sheets, docs and slides), Adobe Acrobat for editing,  contract management, including tracking budgets, reviewing deliverables, processing and paying invoices, working with senior leadership in an organization including  scheduling for senior leadership, developing and executing on plans to coordinate project work


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior state experience related to the duties of this position. 

  • Proven experience in use of discretion and creativity within the limits of general guidelines from leadership.  

  • Proven use of judgment in the adaptation of new processes to solve problems related to assignments from leadership.

  • Two (2) years contract management experience.
  • Two (2) years reviewing deliverables, paying invoices.
  • Proven organizational skills related to maintaining project goals with attention to detail.

DEFINITION OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Work that involves exercising discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, and sharing an organized body of knowledge that characteristically is uniquely acquired through an intense education or training regimen at a recognized college or university; equivalent to the curriculum requirements for a bachelor's or higher degree with major study in or pertinent to the specialized field; and continuously studied to explore, extend, and use additional discoveries, interpretations, and application and to improve data, materials, equipment, applications and methods. 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • All positions at HCPF are security sensitive positions and require that the individuals undergo a criminal record background check as a condition of employment.

  • Employees who have been disciplinary terminated, resigned in lieu of disciplinary termination, or negotiated their termination from the State of Colorado must disclose this information on the application.
