Position Summary
The Director will be responsible for directing and providing social work services, case coordination, education and recreational activities and meals at the Two Bridges Senior Housing Residence, a Section 202 with 108 units for elderly and disabled, for diverse seniors in the immediate neighborhood.
Responsibilities
Case Management
Provide the following case management services in Chinese and English languages:
- Information and referral - Maintain care plans
- Advocacy - Supportive Contact
- Benefit and entitlement assistance
- Financial planning
Be able to recognize, assess and refer for mental health issues: depression, anxiety, bereavement, psychosomatic illnesses, family issues, maladaptive behaviors, cross-cultural barriers/stress, and dementia.
Service Coordination
- Provide home visitations
- Coordinate services with health professionals as needed
- Coordinate care and services clients receive from various auspices: home health care, benefit & entitlements agencies, legal and financial service providers, etc.
Administration
- Manage fiscal operations/ budget for Helen Harris
- Maintain compliance with HUD guidelines
- Participate in trainings
- Compile and submit reports and vouchers on regular basis
- Work with management company and building staff (manager, super., security guard, etc.) on necessary issues
- Participate in regular administrative staff and senior service coordination meetings
Other Duties
- Assist/coordinate macro senior service wide events such as arts display, etc.
- Participate in regular supervision with Assistant Executive Director.
Qualifications
- Master degree preferred in one of the following fields: social work, counseling, psychology, gerontology
- Bilingual English/Cantonese and/or Mandarin required
- Three years of experience working with older adults preferred
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of older adults
- Ability to handle complex and difficult situations in a professional manner. Demonstrated ability to conduct a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with the public and/or with difficult situations
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships with designated community groups
- Excellent computer skills required including experience with data management systems, willingness to learn other programs as required.
- Strong verbal and written Communication skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented; able to plan, manage and successfully complete multiple concurrent projects, frequently with short deadlines
- Must be able to work independently

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM, 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $65,000 to $70,000 depending on qualifications and experience
