About You:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Development to join our leadership team. This role is pivotal in inspiring stakeholders to invest in Miracle Messages' mission and vision. As the primary driver of revenue generation, you will report directly to the Executive Director and lead comprehensive and strategic fundraising initiatives. Your passion for our mission and your ability to leverage storytelling and media will amplify our impact and drive positive change for individuals experiencing homelessness.
This is an incredible opportunity to lead a fiscally sound organization and grow our annual budget of $3.5M by 30% over the next two years, contributing to a national movement to end relational poverty among the homeless.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Leadership and Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a sustainable, multi-year, multi-channel fund development plan that diversifies funding sources in alignment with our strategic goals. Collaborate with the Executive Director and Senior Leadership to set and achieve ambitious fundraising targets.
Relationship and Donor Management: Cultivate relationships with foundations, corporate, and individual donors. Oversee Miracle Messages’ online fundraising efforts, including donation pages, special appeals, email campaigns, SEO strategies, and event management.
Prospect Research: Identify and prioritize potential supporters, working closely with the Executive Director to develop outreach and cultivation strategies.
Industry Knowledge: Stay informed on grant opportunities and philanthropic trends, assessing their impact on our strategies.
All other duties as assigned: Due to the changing nature of our growing organization, duties occasionally change to meet the needs of our population. We intend to serve as many people as possible, and flexibility is required as we learn new ways to accomplish this.
Required experience:
○ 7-10 years of progressive development experience with a proven track record in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
Mission-Driven: A deep commitment to Miracle Messages' mission and values, with an understanding of issues related to homelessness, poverty, and social justice.
Organizational Skills & Flexibility: Strong ability to manage multiple projects and relationships in a fast-paced, collaborative, remote environment while embracing innovative solutions to serve our community.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with donor data management systems and marketing tools, focusing on tracking key performance metrics.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse donors, media contacts, stakeholders, and community partners.

Compensation:
Salary range: $140,000 - $155,000
Location: Hybrid - While this position is predominantly remote, candidates should reside in the Bay Area and be available to travel to San Francisco several times a month.
