As part of our expanding Global Engineering and Scientific consulting team, you will work at the forefront of today’s most complex engineering challenges. You will be engaged in analyzing failures of a myriad of products from a variety of industries, but with a heavy focus on large industrial facilities like power plants, Oil & Gas facilities, chemical processing plants, and similar. Outside of that work, you will be engaged in automotive, consumer products, consumer electronics and medical devices.

This Director role will report to one of the internationally recommended experts and is an all-encompassing role that incorporates the management of client assignments, proactively identifying and participating in networking, and eventually business development activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning and leading failure analysis investigations
Planning and leading teams performing laboratory tests
Conducting field inspections
Communicating with clients and counsel in all time zones
Planning and assisting with the preparation of expert reports
Prepare for and attend depos, trials, mediations, and arbitrations
Managing the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements
Develop positive relationships with colleagues, peers, and clients
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requisite professional designations and work experience:
PhD in Metallurgical Engineering with 5+ years of prior experience engineering consulting
Alternatively, MS degree with 10+ years of prior experience in either or both industry and engineering consulting
Preferred: additional licensure as a Certified Welding Inspector, Certified Welding Engineer, Professional Engineer, or other
Preferred: extensive experience with codes and standards, such as ASME, AWS, API, AISC, or similar
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong expert report writing skills to complement analytics
Able to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations and develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems
The ability to manage and prioritize your time and your team’s time, potentially against a backdrop of competing deadlines
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills
The desire to lead, auxiliary tasks associated with a growing practice within a rapidly growing firm
The ability to travel globally as-needed
The ability to work odd hours to adjust for client needs globally
